Hosted by the European Union for Progressive Judaism, Rabbi Lea Mühlstein will be reflecting on the crisis that Liberal Zionism faces today. Yet rather than only dwelling on a description of the withering away of Liberal Zionism, we will ask whither Liberal Zionism? How can we be religious Zionists and at the same time remain committed to the universal values that are central to Liberal Judaism? The lecture will explore the concept of Liberalism and the post-modern challenge to Liberal nationalism and conclude with a sketch of what a Liberal Zionism of Courage might look like.
