EUPJ appoints Rabbinic Envoy to EU

The European Union for Progressive Judaism is proud to announce that Rabbi Dr. Brian Doyle-Du Breuil has been appointed as the EUPJ’s Rabbinic Envoy to the European Union.

The EUPJ is an integral partner to the European Union by helping to draft policy, monitoring member states’ adherence to EU legislation concerning the protection of the Jewish way of life and implementing EU outreach projects, which tackle antisemitism and other forms of societal discrimination.

Rabbi Dr. Doyle-Du Breuil originates from Scotland and has been a citizen of Belgium for the last 17 years. He has served as the Rabbi of the International Jewish Centre in Brussels since graduating from the Abraham Geiger College and the University of Potsdam in 2021.

He is Professor Emeritus of Hebrew and Hebrew Bible at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. He lives in Leuven with his husband Peter and their two teenage children Julie and Thibault.
